DNS lookup
See what 19 public DNS resolvers answer for a domain, where its servers are, and how its name servers and email are set up. Enter an IP address to get its reverse DNS.
Reading the results
Each resolver answers from its own cache, so the results tell you how far a DNS change has spread.
-
Propagation is caching
A resolver keeps an answer for its TTL. After a DNS change, each one shows the new record only once its cached copy expires.
-
Different answers can be right
CDNs and GeoDNS answer by location: two resolvers far apart often get two different IPs for the same name.
-
CNAME chains
A name can point to another name before reaching an IP. Each hop of the chain is shown above the answer.
-
Check the IPs you find
Every public IP in the results links to its reputation report: blocklists, honeypots and risk score.
